Litegrav Partners with Boryung to Advance Global Health through Space Bioscience Research
Strategic Partnership with Boryung Announced
Litegrav Partners with Boryung to Advance Global Health through Space Bioscience Research
Tallinn, Estonia — Litegrav, a startup focused on replicating extreme environments for biological research, announced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Boryung Corporation, a prominent South Korean pharmaceutical and healthcare investment company. This partnership makes Litegrav a strategic partner for Boryung's Humans In Space program — a global initiative aimed at advancing human health and biotechnology through bioscience research.
Litegrav CEO Patrik Hollós states, “interest in space bioscience is exploding, but it is prohibitively expensive to conduct research in space. Litegrav was founded to remedy this problem by simulating not just space, but a variety of extreme and uncommon conditions that can lead to valuable translational findings in the biosciences. This partnership is helping us refine our platform while gimportant initiative a massive efficiency advantage.”
The Humans In Space program is a first-of-its-kind initiative to explore innovations in biotechnology and life sciences, driven by space research and microgravity analog environments. Per the agreement, Litegrav will expedite investigations by replicating space-like conditions. Litegrav will also provide mission management services and play a central role in the annual Humans In Space Challenge, a global competition for researchers tackling the effects of space-like conditions on human health.
Boryung will leverage Litegrav's expertise in simulating space-like environments with bioreactors and microgravity simulations. Litegrav’s infrastructure will support research on biological processes, such as cell and microbial cultures, organoid growth, organ-on-a-chip systems, and pharmaceutical advancements.
Litegrav’s software and hardware are designed to accelerate space exploration and terrestrial health by providing cost-effective solutions for long-term space missions and biomedical innovations.
