DeSci Nordics Meetup Brings Together Innovators to Advance Decentralized Science and Translational Research
Tallinn, Estonia – April 25, 2024 – The first-ever DeSci Nordics meetup was a resounding success, gathering key players from across the region to advance decentralized science (DeSci). Held at Stalker Hall in Kultuurikatel, the event focused on community-driven efforts to accelerate scientific research, commercialization, and real-world applications, with an emphasis on open data and reproducibility.
A Focus on Community and Commercialization
One of the highlights was the panel discussion on science commercialization and the importance of community. This conversation brought together ecosystem players from across the New Nordics for discussions on how DeSci can bridge the gap between pure research and practical application.
Patrik Hollós, CEO of Litegrav, emphasized the importance of rapid translation: "At Litegrav, we advocate for the rapid translation of scientific research into real-world applications. We are committed to developing platforms that harness extreme biology to fuel innovation at scale and make science more accessible."
Event Highlights:
- Keynote Speakers: The event featured influential figures in the DeSci space, including Tyler Golato from Molecule (remote), Eleanor Davies from VitaDAO, Veronica Kirin from AsteriskDAO, and Morten Scheibye-Knudsen from the University of Copenhagen (remote live).
- Panel Discussions and Fireside Chats: Attendees explored the future of research commercialization, decentralized solutions for clinical trials, and the importance of community engagement in the scientific process.
- Networking Opportunities: The event fostered valuable connections between participants through dedicated networking sessions and an open mic for matchmaking and collaboration.
